An affordable place to locate your business. The Tulsa Port of Catoosa has the utilities you need at reasonable rates. From high tech telecom to abundant natural gas to sewer service, you can depend on the Port to deliver services affordably.

Telecom. The Port's communications needs are served by Southwestern Bell. SWB has a fiber-fed remote terminal located in the center of the Port. The terminal’s optics include a multiplexer allowing for T-1 service via a copper ring. Several Port industries have T-1 service. Oklahoma’s regulatory climate is typical in that companies can choose their long distance provider. SWB is the provider of local tone. AT&T and Cox Cable traverse the edge of the park, but presently do not serve the Port.

Natural Gas. Most industrial customers contract for natural gas (NG) in two components: 1) purchase NG supply from marketers and 2) payment for transportation of NG by Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG), an Oklahoma utility with rates regulated by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

The cost of natural gas is typically priced by firms in 1000 mcf increments and is traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). Gas to the Tulsa Port of Catoosa is typically priced at NYMEX spot +$0.12 to $0.15 per 1000 mcf for 30 day contracts. Users wishing to lock in their rates for longer periods negotiate those terms directly with the NG marketers.

Delivery of the fuel within the Port is provided by ONG and rates for delivery depend upon customer's annual usage with tariff regulations governing charges. Please see www.ong.com for a listing of applicable ONG tariffs. ONG maintains an extensive distribution system within the Port, and has engineers on-staff capable of modeling specific customer needs and location in order to provide desired NG transportation service.

Electricity. Public Service Company of Oklahoma provides electric service to the Port via a strong transmission and distribution system that meets the needs of large and sensitive customer loads. PSO generates more than 4,000 megawatts of electricity annually using a diverse mix of natural gas, coal and wind energy. PSO works closely with the Port and customers to ensure quality service at competitive rates. The average cost per kWh through October 2007 for industrial customers was 5.47 cents per kWh. PSO will be glad to provide an estimated annual bill based on individual kW demand and kWh usage. A summary of the tariff rates options are available here. Also see www.PSOklahoma.com

Water & Sewer. The Port’s water and sewer service is provided by the City of Tulsa. Domestic water is via a dual-fed loop composed of two, 24-inch lines. The Port’s interior loop is typically 4-inch with static pressures in the X-Y psi range. Raw water for certain industrial processes may be available from one of two flow-lines traversing the industrial park. Sanitary sewer is a mostly gravity-fed system running to a new 2.5 mgd race-track type regional treatment plant. These services are priced per city ordinance. Sewer treatment requirements and costs can vary by effluent stream. In certain cases, pre-treatment may be required or may significantly reduce a company’s overall sewer costs.
